Robert C. Hieber

Robert C. Hieber, 76 of Elkhart, passed away Aug. 10, 2012 at the Hospice House of Elkhart.

He was born June 5, 1936 in Ft. Wayne to Christian and Lucille (Beard) Hieber and married Nancy Rae Oelfke on Aug. 10, 1957 in Ft. Wayne. She survives with a son, Kevin (Tracy) Hieber of Elkhart and a daughter, Kim (Steven) Shipley of Ft. Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Taylor and Sarah Hieber and Elaine Shipley and a sister, Ruth Wells of Ft. Wayne. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hieber.

Bob graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Wayne and was the owner of Builders Enterprises Corp. in Elkhart which he started in Feb. of 1973. He was a life member of the Elkhart Breakfast and Evening Optimist Clubs serving as past president and also served as Lt. Governor. He was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge of Goshen.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday. Pastor Andrea Bremmer will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
