Shirley Ann (Paulus) Cuvo

Shirley Ann Cuvo, 79 of Elkhart went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 11, 2024 she was surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on July 13, 1944 in Easton, PA to William and Beulah Paulus. She married Roy John Cuvo on November 2, 1963 in Easton, PA, he preceded her in death on January 23, 2009.

Shirley worked as a phone operator in her youth. She also worked in manufacturing. She loved BINGO and playing card games such as Skip-BO, Rummikub just to name a few; she was always up for a good back yard game of Quates. Shirley attended Northwest United Methodist Church in South Bend, IN She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Shirley is survived by her three beautiful daughters Sherri Cuvo Ayrea of Mishawaka, IN, Lorri (George) Pierpont of Elkhart, IN and Tammy (Randy) Zook of Elkhart, IN; her grandchildren John Ayrea, Samantha (Erik) Boyer, Nicholas Ayrea,  Natalie Ayrea, Brittany  (Eric) Kaufman, Ronnie Warren III, Kyli Mejia and Kelsey Mejia; great-grandchildren Zackery Ayrea, Kinsley Boyer, Greyson Ayrea, Avery Freet, Brody Kaufman, Ethan Kaufman, Zohee Warren, Khloee Warren, Ali Lacan, Vinnie Lacan, Sebastian Mejia and Eli Mejia and her brother Rolland (Josie) Paulus. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents William and Beulah Paulus, her husband Roy John Cuvo and her siblings William Paulus, Jr., Leon Paulus, Lorraine Odenheimer, Katherine Brendel, Gerald Paulus, Richard Paulus, Joan Paulus, Eleanore Woodring, Jean Doll and Victoria Paulus. Shirley’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers Moriah Mora, Kylie Mejia, Carol Zook, Kelsey LaCan and Heartland Hospice for all the love and support that was given to Shirley and DeVita Dialysis for their care, especially Nurse Libby.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday March 15, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 Funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday March 16, 2024 at the funeral home. Pastor Vickie Van Nevel will officiate.
