Beatrice W. Nusbaum

Beatrice W. Nusbaum, age 92, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Nazareth Home in Louisville, KY. Beatrice was born on May 21, 1926 in Union, MI to Clarence E. and Estella Bertha (Rine) Fisher. On June 10, 1955 she married Robert O. Nusbaum of Elkhart.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Michael A. (Fran) Nusbaum of Louisville, KY, Robert E. (Jan) Nusbaum of Zionsville, IN and Carol A. Nusbaum of Bristol, IN; nephews, Brian and Chuck Fisher; nieces, Laura Vance, and Janet Nichols; extended family, Wendell (Faye) Shaffer and family. She is also survived her grandchildren, Lyndsay (Spencer) Martin, Daniel (Katie) Nusbaum, Brendan Nusbaum, Michael (Chelsea) Nusbaum, and Ellen Nusbaum. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Beverly Ann Nusbaum, her siblings Henry Fisher and Inez Sutton and extended family, John Sutton and Keith Shaffer.

Beatrice graduated from Elkhart High School, University of Michigan School of Nursing, Goshen College and received her master’s degree in Health Science from Ball State. She worked at Elkhart General Hospital as a register nurse and a school nurse for Elkhart Community Schools.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Michigan, was an avid golfer and member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Friends may visit with family from 2pm to 4 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN. where funeral services will be held at 4pm. Memorial donations in memory of Beatrice may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church and the Activities Department of Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205.
