Chloe Mays

Chloe Mays, age 86, of Bristol passed away on March 6, 2019 surrounded by her family. Chloe was born on September 15, 1932 in Ivydale, West Virginia to Porter F. and Ethel E. (Friend) Barnes. On October 5, 1957 she married Robert L. Mays in Charleston, WV.

Chloe is survived by her children, Neal Mays of Bristol, Bert (Kim) Mays of Bristol, Debra Kubiak of Columbus, OH, Eva Troutmiller of Bristol, Sue (Danny) Bolen of Elkhart and Pearl Ford of Elkhart, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. As well as her siblings, Cecil Barnes of Cross Lanes, WV and Arling Barnes of Scott Depot, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Ronald Barnes, Berie Spiegelberg, Elsie Litton and Pearl Barnes.

Chloe worked at Eastlake Nursing Home in the dietary department, she retired at 80 years of age. She attended Elkhart Northside Baptist Church and was a form member of Bristol Church of the Nazarene.

Friends may visit with family from 1pm -3pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart where funeral services will be held at 3 pm. Rev. Gary Sheets and Rev. Carl Henry will be officiating. Burial will be private at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol. Memorial donations in memory of Chloe may be made to Hospice of Elkhart County.
