Debra J. (Harrington) Stevens

Debra J. Stevens, 61, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday April 18, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1957 in Elkhart to Glenwood and Harriet (Lienhart) Harrington.

She married Jerry D. Stevens on June 21, 1986 in Elkhart. She is survived by her husband Jerry, a son, Tyler Stevens, and a daughter Megan Stevens all of Elkhart and 2 sisters, Lorna (Dave) Long of Elkhart and Susan (Keith) Yoder of Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Deb graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1976 and was a school bus driver for Concord Community Schools and worked in the medical field. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed her dogs, reading, camping and just talking to people.

She will be remembered as a caring wife and mother with an extraordinary personality, great sense of humor and love for always wanting to help others. Her smile and quick wit will be missed.

Visitation for Deb will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, April 23rd at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to the 11 am funeral service on Wednesday, April 24th at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery.
