Janet W. (Reed) Weed

Janet Weed of Naples, Florida, previous longtime resident of Elkhart County, passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2019 at the age of 67.  Shortly after Thanksgiving, Jan was diagnosed with brain cancer and spent her remaining days surrounded by family and friends.

Jan’s quick wit and sense of humor always made the people around her smile. She had a vibrant passion for the arts and a love of animals, which was shared with countless pets over the course of her lifetime. Her immeasurable generosity changed the lives of many.  She will be remembered as an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.  

In keeping with her wishes, family and friends will gather together to celebrate her life in the coming months, details to follow. Contributions may be given in Janet’s memory to the Center for Hospice Care.  Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
