Larry Dwaine Schall

Larry Dwaine Schall, 63, of Elkhart passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. Larry was born on July 7, 1956 in Massillon, Ohio to Jack Lee and Eleanor Loretta (Kemp) Schall. He married Dawn Harris on July 29, 2005.

Larry graduated from Washington High School class of 75. After high school he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ashtabula A051. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper. He loved the outdoors and camping. He believed in teaching children how to fish and hunt. He loved life and his family.

Larry is survived by his wife Dawn Harris; children, Larry Michael (Danielle) Schall, Jodi (Jon) Knapp, Jimmie (Charlene Mabie) Harris. His grandchildren Alexis, Emily, Samantha Elaine, Marijo (Zech), Jazlyn, Conner, Jamie, Joseph and Jimmie III and his 4 great grandchildren. His siblings Randy (Cindy) Schall, Tommy Lee (Lisa) Schall, Debbie Shaw, Cathy (Tom Burdette) Hair and his ½ brother Jack Lee (Susan) Schall and his 1st wife Laura Schmidt.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Jonna, his sister Diana Lynn Schall and his brother Lyle Schall.

A celebration of Larry’s life service will be at 3 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at St. Mark’s Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Memorial donations in memory of Larry may be made to Dream Foundation, 1528 Chapala Street, Suite 303, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 or Doctor Otis Bowen Veteran House, 2669 Cold Spring Road, Indianapolis, IN 46622. Inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio with his parents. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the Schall family.
