Robert E. Lovejoy

Robert E. Lovejoy, 81 of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Greenleaf Health Campus.

He was born April 20, 1938 in Mishawaka to Guy and Ann (Helder) Lovejoy. He married Lillian M. Neidballa on April 25, 1958. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, 3 sons, David (Donna) Lovejoy of Peoria, AZ, James (Judy) Lovejoy of Elkhart and Stephen (Karin) Lovejoy of Chicago; 2 grandchildren, Connor (Addie) Lovejoy and Mary Elise Lovejoy and a sister, Judy (Dick) Kennedy of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob graduated from Concord High School and earned is B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State University. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at C.T.S. Corp. for 21 years and then started his own business F&F Grinding Service for 16 years before retiring. Bob attended Faith United Methodist Church and was a 48 year member of Dunlap United Methodist Church. He was inducted into to the Concord High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1991. His hobby and passion was restoring vintage automobiles, having restored four of them.

Visitation for Bob will be from 4-8 pm Friday, May 31st at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to the memorial service at 11 am Saturday, June 1st at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
