Zoeanna Kay (Young) Wilcox

Zoeanna Kay Wilcox, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on July 27, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.  She was born on April 26, 1941 in Elkhart, IN to Julius H. and Jennie (Haslett) Young.  She was raised by her father and step-mother, Julius and Lucille Young.  She married Charles E. Wilcox, Jr. on April 7, 1963 in Elkhart.  He passed away on May 16, 1993.

Zoeanna is survived by 2 sons: James C. (Bethany) Wilcox of South Bend, IN and Darrin A. (Beth Creeger) Wilcox of Elkhart, IN; her grandchildren: Brittanie, Brooke and Haley Wilcox and Daryn and Christa Hepler; a great-grandson, Landon Heckaman; and a sister, Polly (Gene) Rathke of Goshen, IN.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Young, and a brother, Clyde Young.

Zoeanna loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed reading and color-by-number books.  She was formerly a nurse’s aide.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 on Thursday, Aug. 9th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 PM on Friday, Aug. 10th.  Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Kelly Cares Foundation for those with breast cancer.
