Nancy Sue (Wantland) Turns

Nancy Sue Turns, 88 of Elkhart passed away on Saturday January 27, 2024 at Elkhart General Hospital

with special care from Heart to Heart Hospice. Nancy was born on May 21, 1935 in Franklin, Kentucky to

Virgil and Martha Wantland. She married Jimmy Joel Turns on June 8, 1953 in Springfield, Tennessee, he

preceded her in death on March 14, 2018.

Nancy and her husband Jimmy owned and operated Pay-N-Pak it in Bristol, IN for over 20 years. She

enjoyed playing tennis. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their home in Florida. They also

loved spending time on their boat, whether it was at Lake Wawasee or Lake Michigan, it really didn’t

matter as long as they were together. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially

her grandchildren. She was always there to support her grandchildren every day and in every way.

Nancy loved being a grandmother and will be sadly missed.

Nancy is survived by her children Billy Joe (Cynthia Anne) Turns of Granger, IN and Debbie Sue (George)

Collins of Huron, OH; grandchildren Reese Joel (Victoria) Turns, Alex Edward Turns, Anne Nicole (Andrew

Zeller) Lillis, and step grandson Brett (Eileen) Collins; great-grandchildren Josephine Eleanor Turns, Charles James Turns, Charlotte Eileen Collins, Brooks Brett Collins and Braxton Bear Collins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Martha Wantland, husband Jimmy Joel Turns, grandson James Erik Turns, brothers William “Billy” Wantland and Jack Wantland.

Visitation will be held from 10am- 1 pm on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson

Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 1pm.

Nancy will be laid to rest at Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol, IN. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may
