Alberta M. Nelson

Alberta M. Nelson, 85 of Elkhart, passed away January 30, 2008 at 10:05 pm at the home of her daughter.

She was born to Martin C. and Hermina (Hoberg) Olson and married Earl H. Nelson on October 26, 1943 in Elkhart. He died August 7, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Catherine (Gary) Davis of Elkhart, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, 2 sisters, Nadine (Bud) Bishop of Osceola, Annette (Robert) Stouder of Elkhart and a brother, Conrad Olson of Texas. 2 sisters and a brother preceded in death.

Mrs. Nelson retired from Elkhart Cases and previously worked at Adlake and was a needlecrafter at Mar-Lind Knit Shop. She was a graduate of Jimtown High School and a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church and the women's circle. She loved the outdoors, fishing, traveling and gardening.

Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Services will be 10 am Thursday at Augustana Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Reshan will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be given to the Church or Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
