Andrew J. Green passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of loved ones, in Union, MI after a lengthy illness.
Andrew was born in London, England, the son of Robert and Barbara (Carrau) Green on February 3, 1946. He moved from England, to the Island of Angelesy, Wales, and eventually to America where he met and married Rebecca Mikel of Marcellus, Michigan on June 11, 1998. He was proceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca – Union, Michigan, and brothers Gordon (Joan) and Collin (Lynn), sisters Barbara (Ted Davies) and Valerie (Geoff Deakin), all of Great Britain. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews on “both sides of the pond”.
Andrew ‘s love of nature and animals resulted in his being a professional gun dog trainer earning national level success, work with captive breeding programs of Peregrine Falcons in the United Kingdom, becoming an accomplished Falconer, a breeder of exotic finches from around the world, and a volunteer for the Safari Club International Youth Training Program.
He was a member of Porter Baptist Church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, at Porter Baptist Church, 12032 Teasdale Lake Road, 12032 Teasdale Lake Road, Constantine, Michigan. There will be a time for visiting from 6:00-7:00 p.m, with a service at 7:00. In lieu of flowers, Rebecca is asking donations be made to Ribbon of Hope, Elkhart General Hospital, 600 East Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514. Online condolences may be sent to www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com.
