Barbara “Kae” Betts, age 91 of Elkhart, IN passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Kae was born on April 16, 1935 to Delos and Betty Annear in Carroll County, IA. She married the love of her life Cleo Betts on July 3, 1953 in Carroll County, IA.
Kae and her husband Cleo are longtime members of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart, IN. They are members of Elkhart Vintage Auto Club, Midstate Jeepsteer Association, Humpty Dumpty in Nashua, New Hampshire, Questers Antique Study Group. She was a teacher’s assistant. Most of all she loved to spend time with her husband going to antique car shows and just being together.
Kae is survived by her husband of 73 years, Cleo Betts, their daughter Bonnie Bourn of Constantine, MI., her brother, Steve (Arianna) Annear of Klamath Falls, OR, grandchildren, Gillian (Norman) Cupp, Scott Breitling, Samanatha (Johnny) Breitling and Emily Breitling as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Kae was preceded in death by her parents, Delos and Betty Annear, son Stephen C. “Steve” Betts, son-in-law Ronald Dean Bourn, her siblings David Annear, Ardith Story and Mary Burgess.
Visitation will be held from 9-10am on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Northside Baptist Church, 53198 CR 9, Elkhart, IN 46514 where the funeral services will be 10am. Pastor Carl Henry will officiate. Kae will be buried at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with her son Steve on Monday, October 12, 2026 at 9:30. In memory of Kae memorial donations in her honor may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
