Bea E. Austin

Bea E. Austin, 91 of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord on Feb. 25, 2013. She was born Feb. 27, 1921 in Orland, IN. to Herman and Emily (Boardman) Davis. She married John E. Austin on Aug. 24, 1940 and was married for 56 years before he preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include 1 son, John (Rhonda) Austin, 4 daughters; Nancy (John) Rinker, Jean (Mike) Elder, V. Kay (Brad) Rines, and Jackie (Stan) Treadway, 15 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was co-owner with her husband of Austin Construction and Austin Laundromat and founding members of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. She continued to serve the Lord “all the days of her life” in different ministries. She enjoyed her family and helping others.

Visitation will be two hours prior to service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing on Feb. 28 at 11 am with Rev. Carl Henry from Northside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Northside Baptist Church.
