Bernard Redmond

Bernard Redmond, age 75, of Elkhart, IN passed away on July 25, 2026 at his home. Bernard was born on October 27, 1950 in Natchez, MS to Robert and Mary Redmond. He married Hazel Norwood on March 28, 1970 in Elkhart, IN.

Bernard worked as a painter for the Miles/Bayer Corporation. An active member of the community, Bernard spent many hours giving back to his community through various organizations. He was a member of First Baptist Community Church where he loved his involvement in the Christian Light class. He enjoyed spending time fishing and golfing, but his favorite thing to do was spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Redmond, children; Darren (Pamela) Johnson, Bernard (Rashonda) Redmond Jr. and Jameka (Marion "Jabar") Redmond Robinson, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brother, Roger (Hattie) Redmond and many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Redmond, and brothers; Norwood Redmond and Glen Redmond.

Visitation will be held on August 15, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00am at First Baptist Church, 53953 County Road 17, Bristol, IN 46507 where funeral services will be held at 11:00am.
