Bertha Louise Templeton

Bertha Louise Templeton, 94, of Elkhart, entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born September 14, 1931 to Alfred and Viola McElroy. She married W. Paul Templeton on November 20, 1948; he died December 4, 2024 after 76 years of marriage.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Richard) Bokovoy, Shoreview MN, Alfred (Jacquie) Templeton, Lafayette, Becky Hibbets, Goshen, Laura (Jack) Ropple, Elkhart, and Ted (Becky) Templeton, Goshen; fifteen grandchildren, & twenty-one great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and a son W. Paul Templeton Jr.

Bertha loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She served Him in many capacities, but her most important was to be a loving wife to her husband, an amazing mother to her six children, and the best grandma ever. She touched many lives during her lifetime. A sweet lady, loved by all.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, April 9 at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart, IN 46514. Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 noon. Rev. Al Templeton will officiate and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
