Betty B. Askren, 91 of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Elkhart, IN passed away at 3:15 am Friday May 3, 2013 in Las Vegas.
She married Charles F. Askren on February 17, 1951 in Ohio. He preceded her in death December 29, 1969. Betty is survived by a son, David Askren of Chicago, IL, a daughter, Cheryl (Willis) Shepherd of Las Vegas, grandson Brion Topolski of Los Angeles, CA, sisters, Norma Bonar of Hicksville, OH, Baneta Fullerton of Ft. Wayne, IN and sister-in law, Dorothy Askren of Ft. Wayne, IN. 6 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends that loved their “Grandma Betty”.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm EST at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. All friends are welcome to attend. Family and friends will gather immediately following the service at the Christiana Creek Country Club (Elks Lodge #325) 116 W. Bristol St. Elkhart.
