Betty Joan (DeHoff) Chaffee

Betty (DeHoff) Chaffee of Elkhart, Indiana was born January 12th, 1933, in Bryant, Indiana and passed

away on April 30th, 2022.

She is survived by sons Tony Chaffee, Mike (Sue) Chaffee of Elkhart and daughter Cindy Hoy of

Florence, Arizona. Grand Children, Kelly Wheeler, Karla (Neal) Mineyev, Amy Chaffee, Christy Chaffee,

Jim (Kristy) Chaffee, Zac (Tayler) Chaffee and Ryan (Courtney) Cooper and thirteen Great Grandchildren.

Betty married Edwin Chaffee on October 16,1953 and proceeded her in death in 1994. Also proceeding

her in death are brother Albert (Fred) (Ruth) DeHoff, Sister Jean (Roger) Abbott, and sister Marlyn (Earl)

Eggleston.

There will be a private graveside service for family at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

A Celebration of Life with friends and family will take place at a later date.

Betty worked at Adlake, Beck Manufacturing, Ramco Industries, and retired from the front desk at the

YMCA Elkhart.

Betty loved working outside in her flower gardens and with the community. She worked well into her late 70’s at the YMCA and made many, many friends at early check in.

Betty was a lover of pets with many dogs and her cat Rocky. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can

be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
