Billy Lemons, Jr.

Billy Franklin "Tinker" Lemons, Jr., 64, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday January 18, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 3, 1961 in Elkhart, IN to Billy Lemons and Theresa Hudnall.

Tinker graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School and received an associate's degree from Ivy Tech. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Tinker played at the local VFWs, American Legions, in several bars and at open mic nights for various bands from the Looney Tones to Fault Line just to name a few.  He enjoyed playing music on his guitar and harmonica and made several records.

Tinker is survived by his mom Theresa (Terry)  Hudnall of Gainesville, FL., his children, Patricia Lemons of Elkhart, IN., Rachel Lemons of Elkhart, IN., Joshua Lemons of Berlin, Germany and Julia Lemons Berlin,  Germany, his grandchildren, Dominic, Kylee, Logan, Laila, Elijah and Daniel , his great-grandchildren, Declan and Jaxynn; siblings, Teddy (Staci) Lemons, Shannon (Christina) Hicks of Elkhart, IN and Samantha (Rob) Tillman of Florida; aunts and uncles, Sally Williams of Elkhart, IN, Betty (William) Becraft of Elkhart, IN, Glenn Hartman, FL and Richard Hartman of Indiana; his significant other, Melisa Menzies of Elkhart, IN, as well as several nieces,  nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Lemons, Sr., his brothers Johnny and Randy Lemons.

Visitation will be 2-4pm Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where a memorial service will be 4 pm Scott Caviness will officiate. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.
