Bonnie Barton

Bonnie Jean Barton, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2025, at Bell Tower Health and Rehabilitation Center in Granger, IN. She was born July 21, 1950, in Rock Island, IL to Valton Lee and Joan Burda. She married the love of her life Larry Barton on February 4, 1978, at the log cabin at Heaton Lake, IN. They were married for over 44 years, until his passing on June 21, 2022.

Bonnie was a production worker in the RV manufacturing business. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Bonnie will be sadly missed.

Bonnie is survived by grandchildren, Derek Carr, Timothy Carr, Cameron Carr, Amanda Carr, Dakota Carr, Daniel Alkema, Grace Alkema and Jared Carr; and her brother Robbie Lee Burda; great-grandchildren Daltyn Carr, Myra Carr and Willow Carr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Valton and Joan Burda; her son Daniel J. Carr, Jr and Johnny Carr; her grandchild Hayden Carr and her brother Gregory Burda.

Visitation will be held from 11am - 1pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
