Carol Caviness

Carol Caviness, 66, of Bristol, IN passed away on April 24, 2025 at The Center for Hospice Care, Esther’s House in Elkhart, IN. Carol was born on August 19, 1958 in Goshen, IN to Ray and Ellen Swihart. On May 19, 1991 she married Gary Wayne Caviness.

Carol dedicated 40 years of her life working in Human Resources for Elkhart County, where she retired as Director of Personnel. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, fishing with her husband, and watching Soap Operas, most especially, General Hospital.

Carol is survived by her sisters Linda Swihart of west Lafayette, IN., Sally Miller of Syracuse, IN. and Susan (Larry) Wilson of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her friend and care-giver Lisa Hosler. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Ellen Swihart, her husband Gary of 32 years, sister Nancy Swihart and a brothers-in-law Paul Beck and Rick Westerman.
