Caroline L. Barkey

Caroline L. Barkey, 97, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday Jan. 20, 2018 at Eastlake Terrace. She was born on May 30, 1920 in DeKalb County, IN to Lester and Audrey (Leins) Kline. She married Ralph Barkey on May 3, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1975.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane (Marlin) Culp, of Elkhart; two sons: Frederick Barkey of Boling Green, KY and James Barkey of Wolcottville, IN; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

Mrs. Barkey was preceded in death by a son, Alan Barkey, a brother and 3 sisters.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed helping her daughter with Jane’s Paint and Wallpaper.

Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the 12 PM service Friday Jan. 26, 2018 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Pastor Keith McFarren will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna, IN.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice.
