Charles Tyrone Daub

Charles Tyrone Daub, age 80, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born on October 4,1942 in Elkhart, IN to Charles M.  and Kathlyn Daub. He married Patricia E. McClane on October 12, 1963 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Charles was a local builder and developer. He developed several subdivisions such as Picwick Manor and Picwick Village in Goshen, Karington Kove, Summit Ridge and Wynstone in Elkhart.He was the key player for the development of  the Elkhart Storage Center and Mini Storage Depot in Goshen. He was very proud to be part of the development team in 1997 for the Country Inn and Suites in Shipshewana that in 2011 became the VanBuren Hotel.  Charles was a member of the Elkhart County Builders Association where he served as Elkhart County President and State President. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patricia E. Daub of 59 years, their son Kevin (Lynne) Daub, daughter Kari (Scott) DeShone, and daughter- in-law Kimberly Daub; grandchildren, Alicia (Wendell) Bontrager, Cody (Kristen) Daub, Jessica (Austin) Mills, Jacquelyn DeShone, Rachel DeShone, Jordan Daub, Bryce Daub and Jake DeShone and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Connie Kelker, Kathy (Tom) Lyvers and his brother Philip (Janilyn) Daub.  Charles was preceded in death by his son Brian Daub and his brother-in-law Ben Kelker.

A visitation and memorial mass will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 411 West Vistula Street, Bristol, IN 46507 with visitation from 11 am to 1 pm. Fr. Bob Van Kempen will officiate. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the Daub family.
