Cindy Kae Henry, age 60, of Elkhart, IN passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Sunday, May 31, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on December 8, 1965 in Esterville, IA to Dale and Judith Higgins.
After graduating from high school, Cindy proudly and bravely served in the United States Army. She worked at KIK Consumer Products and at Voyant Beauty, starting in the tool cribs and working as a MRO/ Indirect Spend Supervisor for over 30 years, 27 of which were spent at Voyant Beauty.
Cindy found joy in life’s simple pleasures, she loved spending weekends in her pajamas and savoring a hot cup of coffee and enjoying the peace and comfort of her home. She enjoyed thrifting with her sisters and sharing laughs through the day.
Her greatest joy in life was her granddaughter Audra, she treasured every moment they shared together and was a loving devoted grandma, or GIGI, as Audra so lovingly called her. She truly loved her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Dennis Charles Henry, their sons; Zachary Higgins and Chase Henry, both of Elkhart, IN, granddaughter, Audra Kae Higgins, siblings Kari Ann (Bill) Moffitt-Herring, of Bristol, IN, Christopher Dale (Jennifer) Higgins of Elkhart, IN and Heidi (Derek) Stanfield of Salix, IA, along with several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A time to celebrate Cindy’s life will be on Saturday, June 20, 2026 time 1-4pm at Wedgewood Brewing Company Event Center, 129 Orpha, Unit B, Middlebury, IN 46540. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting Cindy’s family. Online condolences may be made at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com
