Connie Sue Otten, 72, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Friday July 5, 2024 at Elkhart General Hospital. Connie was born on July 7, 1951 to Dale and Elsie Field in Rockford, IL. Connie married Don Otten on June 28, 1995 at the Episcopal Church in Rochelle, IL.

Connie graduated from Harlem High School in Loves Park, IL, class of 1969. In her younger years she traveled to many places across the United States and also internationally to Japan. Connie worked in a variety of industries that included nursing, real estate, and as a master welder for many years. Most recently, she worked as a pontoon inspector for Barletta Boat Company in Bristol, IN.

Connie had a green thumb from the beautiful flowers around her home to her vegetable garden. She enjoyed spending quiet time fishing with her husband at Puckaway Lake in Wisconsin, she was known for her skills in the kitchen cooking and baking, always crafting gourmet meals to share with her husband and on special occasions creating her famous chicken and noodles from scratch, a favorite of her children.

Connie was a pet lover, especially of her cats, of which she rescued many over the years. Above all, Connie truly loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Connie is survived by her husband Don; her children, Alisa (Dominic) Dunlap of Chicago, IL.,  Andrew “Andy” (Leora) Borell of West Des Moines, IA and Eric (Melissa) Borell of Waukee, IA; step grandchildren Cole Dunlap and Gillian Dunlap, grandchildren, Aliana, Elliott, and Donovan, and her sister Debra (Kevin) Yapp of Belvidere, IL. and her nephew Tim (Blake) Yapp. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Elsie Field and her nephew Ryan Yapp.
