Conrad Lee Kubasiak

Conrad Lee Kubasiak died August 17, 2026, at Wellbrooke Assisted Living in South Bend, IN. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgia Ann Kubasiak, on March 23, 2026. They are survived by their daughter Kristin Kubasiak of Evanston, IL.

Conrad was born August 16, 1937, to Edward and Evelyn Ross Kubasiak in Sturgis, MI. They lived in Bronson, MI, where he was the eldest of their four children. The Kubasiak family ran an independent grocery store known as Eddie’s Red and White Store and are still today very proud of their Polish-American heritage.

After graduating from Bronson High School, Conrad attended Eastern Michigan University, where he trained in ROTC and graduated with a BA in Business Administration Accounting.

Following graduation, Conrad joined the Army Reserve and served as an Air Defense Missile Unit Commander for Army Air Defense Command (ARADCOM), Battery C, 3rd Missile Battalion, 59th Artillery. In 1963 he was relieved from Active Duty as a First Lieutenant.

Conrad started as a Certified Public Accountant for Price Waterhouse. He met Georgia Ann Palumbo on an audit, and they married February 1, 1969. They built a home together in Elkhart, IN, where Georgia’s Italian-American family embraced him. Conrad retired in 2019 from Skyline Corporation, having made many friends both at corporate headquarters and on his many business trip audits.

Also surviving Conrad are his siblings: Gerald (Margaret) Kubasiak of Chicago, IL; Daniel (Deborah) Kubasiak of Glencoe, IL; and Kathy (Brent) Holaway of Osceola, IN.

Visitation and the Rosary are scheduled for Monday, August 24, from 4-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514.

Fr. Logan Parrish will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 25, at 11 am, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1331 N Main St, Elkhart, IN, 46514. Visitation at the Church is scheduled for 10 am, preceding the Mass.

Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 359 Orland Rd, Bronson, MI 49028, in the Kubasiak family plot with Conrad’s numerous relatives.
