Cynthia Leigh Bruggner

Cynthia Leigh Bruggner, age 73, of Elkhart passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. Cynthia was born on January 27, 1947 in South Bend, IN to Theodore F. and Ruby E. Deafenbaugh. She married her high school sweetheart, Steve Bruggner in Elkhart, Indiana

Cynthia graduated from Elkhart High School. She was a retired psychiatric nurse, where she enjoyed working in Michigan and on the Arizona Indian Reservation. She was formerly a member of the red hat society and the YWCA Rockeretts. She loved her pets and most of all she loved spending time with her family taking pontoon rides on the lake.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Steve Bruggner; her children, Amanda (Michael) Rospopo of Elkhart and Jeffrey Whitmer of Florida; her mother Ruby Deafenbaugh of Elkhart, her grandchildren, Stephanie Phillips of Bristol, Joshua Phillips of Bristol, Chase Klein of Elkhart, Angie Whitmer of Florida, Kim Whitmer of Florida and Richie Whitmer of Florida, several great grandchildren and her brother, Ted Deafenbaugh of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may visit with family on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 1-2 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 pm where friends are welcome at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
