Dale E. Stickel, 75, of Elkhart, passed away on Feb. 18, 2018 at his home. He was born on Jan. 4, 1943 in Elkhart, IN to Harold I. and Wilma (Pletcher) Stickel. He married Judith A. Fawley on Sept. 2, 1967 in Elkhart.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, of Elkhart; a daughter, Amy (Derek) Dattner, of Chicago, IL; 2 sons: Andrew (Laura) Stickel of South Lyon, MI and Thomas (Kristen) Stickel of Kirkwood, MO; 6 grandchildren; and 4 siblings: Doris (Dave) Stokely of Elkhart, IN, Irene (Larry) Kurtz of Nappanee, IN, Roger Stickel of Goshen, IN and Ruthan (David) McIntire of Gloucester, VA.
Mr. Stickel received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He retired from Miles Laboratories. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club and the State Board of Registration for Architects and Landscape Architects. He was the Chairman of the Elkhart County Republican Party for several terms. He volunteered at the Redbird Mission in Kentucky, he helped the World Missionary Press. He spent time in Haiti doing mission work.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday Feb. 21 from 4-8 PM at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11am Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor John Hogsett officiating. Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart County Crop Hunger Walk or the church.
