Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, David Charles Fuller, 72, of Elkhart, fell peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the Ernestine M Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka, IN.

He began life, lovingly welcomed by his parents James and Mary Fuller on January 3,1954, in Elkhart. The youngest of four children, David grew up in Union, MI and graduated in 1972 from Jonathan M. Wainwright High School in Tainan, Taiwan.

Easily fostering relationships, David’s welcoming smile and undivided attention created forever friendships wherever he landed, bringing him great joy. One such encounter connected him with Marilyn Nead and her 7-year old son, Joshua, and from the beginning it was clear they were soulmates. On June 16, 1990 they became a loving family of three.

Forever curious and enterprising, David never met a task he could not resolve nor a situation he could not improve. Over more than 30 years, his diverse career at Rollie Williams Inc. spanned a broad range of projects within the company’s many branches, and he leaves his handprints throughout each one.

David loved words, wrote many stories, and published his first book, A Walk With God!, My Journey Through Cancer, in 2021. His latest masterpiece is a children’s book which will be published in his memory. He loved photography, playing guitar and 3D printing, but he was happiest volunteering his time and many skills to help others with countless construction projects. He also designed and built a church, a cousin’s home, and along with Marilyn, renovated every home in which they lived and built a magnificent, energy efficient home from the ground up.

David is survived by his wife, Marilyn Fuller, their son, Joshua (Elizabeth) Fuller and grandson, Eli Fuller; siblings Judith (James) Nichols of Dunedin, FL and Dennis (Nong) Fuller and niece Julie Fuller in Thailand; and nephew, Brian Fuller (Anna Kliewer) and their children Theodor and Eleanor Kliewer in Mexico, and great-nephew, Anthony Murdock Abrams in Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edwin Fuller and Mary Fuller Montroy; his brother, James Michael Fuller; and niece, Brandi (Fuller) Abrams.

David loved life and his family and was firmly grounded in his faith. All three are what inspired him to fight cancer with such a tenacious spirit. He faithfully attended That Church on the Rise, 28082 CR 4 in Elkhart, Indiana where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am with the Celebration beginning at 11am and lunch immediately following.

David will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His legacy of endless courage, enduring faith and unfailing love will continue to shape and inspire us all for many years to come.
