Debbie McDowell

Debbie S. McDowell, 45 of Elkhart, IN. tragically lost her life December 1, 2012 at the American Countryside Farmers Market. She was born April 20, 1967 in Torrance, CA. to
Francis and Lucille (Burkey) Grandstaff. On April 9, 1996 she married Robi M. McDowell in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

He survives along a daughter, Stephanie (Philip) Jackey of Elkhart, two sons, Luc R. and Evan M. McDowell both at home, Grandsons Gavin M. and Logan D. Kelley, Father and Mother Francis and Lucille Grandstaff of Arcadia, FL., Brother, Rick Reed of Punta Gorda, FL., 4 Sisters; Jenni Reed Beard of St. Charles, MO., Cindy (Kevin) Barnard of Elkhart, IN., Sherri Crone of Lakeville, IN. and Lori Reed Thomas of Auburn Dale, FL.

Friends may call 3 hours prior to the 5 PM service Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart with Pastor Clare Schumm officiating. Entombment will take place at Rice Cemetery at a later date.

Debbie loved to ride her motorcycle with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren and spending time at the pool in the company of her friends. She was a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and the Elkhart General Hospital EMT program. Memorial contributions may be given to either St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elkhart or to the family.
