Dennis Proctor

Dennis D. Proctor, 79, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday May 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Dennis was born June 22, 1945 in Sturgis, Michigan to Roy and Lucille Proctor. On August 22, 1965 he married Cheryl Grove at Pleasant Valley Church in Middlebury, IN.

After high school Dennis attended trade school and became a boiler service technician. He worked for Herrman & Goetz through UA Local 172 Plumbers and Pipefitters in South Bend, IN. He and his wife attend Christian Center Church in South Bend, IN. He liked reading westerns and watching sci-fi movies.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years Cheryl, their children: Roger Dean (Laurie) Proctor of Mishawaka, Randall Scott (Nichole) Proctor of Mishawaka, Ryan Kent Proctor of Mishawaka, and Denise Diane (Billy) Snider of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren: Matthew, Amanda, Samantha, Colten, Roman, Farrah, Clint, Gage, Rocky, James, Selena, Jackson and Joseph; 9 great-grandchildren and his siblings: Steven (Karen) Proctor, Joyce Proctor and Michael Proctor. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Eugene and Wayne Proctor.

Visitation for Dennis will be from 4-6 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 where a memorial service will be at 6pm. He will be laid to rest at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, IN., where services will be private.
