Dennis Schmidt

Dennis Lee Schmidt, age 66, of Goshen passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family. Dennis was born on June 4, 1958 to Harold and Mary Schmidt in Elkhart, IN.

Dennis graduated from Concord High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Dennis worked at Goshen Rubber. He enjoyed RC cars, drag racing, hunting, fishing and painting by numbers. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Dennis is survived by his mom, Mary Lovely of Goshen, IN; sister Kim (Charles) Newman of Goshen, IN; cousins Ronnie (Lori) Cook, Jack (Tammy) Cook, Jim Cook, Louann (Joshua) King, Linda (Curtis) Perry and Marilyn Hemminger, aunts Ruby Cook and Phyllis Johnson as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Harold Schmidt, brother Mike Schmidt, cousin Annette Humes and Aunt Winnie Lovely.

Friends may visit with family from 3-6 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 24, 2025 where visitation will be from 10-11am. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, where Dennis will have military honors.
