DIANE G. JONES


Diane G. Jones, 73, of Elkhart, died at 12:30 pm, November 17, 2010 at Greenleaf Health Campus. She was born October 20, 1937 to Charles L. and Grace E. (Jones) Huggins in Elkhart.

She is survived by 2 daughters Jennifer G. (Phil) Conley of Granger, and Brenda E. Jones of South Bend; 1 grandson Blake Lindsey of Tennessee; and a sister Marlie “Noney” Faris of Palm Harbor, FL. She was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Diane Jones.

Diane attended Indiana University, Bloomington, and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, prior to her marriage to Frank L. Jones of Elkhart on June 4, 1960. Diane was a homemaker and had worked part-time at Sautter’s Greenhouse in Elkhart. She enjoyed photography, writing and gardening, bowling and golf. She had a love of animals, and also taught adults and children to read.

Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm and friends may visit the family 2 hours prior at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Rev. Larry Kurtz of Faith United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
