Donald L. Hartman, 79 of Elkhart, passed away at 3:45 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Elkhart Hospice House.
He was born January 17, 1934 in Elkhart to Leolin and Lulu Merle (Yoder) Hartman. He married Betsie A. Hertwig on March 6, 1999. She survives with his daughters, Sherri Alonso of Michigan City, IN and Gail Richardson of Elkhart and a step-daughter, Lisa (Johnny) Lindsey of Elkhart.
Donald served in the U.S. Army and was a retired carpenter and a member of the Hesston Steam Museum.
Graveside services will be at 2 pm Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Pastor Carl Henry will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Alzheimers Disease Foundation. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com.
