Doris E. Stout

Doris E. Stout, 79 of Elkhart, passed away July 24, 2012 at Eastlake Terrace.

She was born July 3, 1933 in Elkhart to Louis H. and Leona (Hoover) Miller and married Robert E. Stout on Jan. 31, 1953. He died on Feb. 23, 1993. Surviving are a brother, Fred (Betty) Miller of Elkhart and nieces, Joan (Alan) Stemm, Ruth Fry, Jan (Michael) Casey, Jill (Jim) Williams and nephew, Otto (Marcia) Miller. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Miller and sisters, Retha Cline and Wava Meinke.

Doris graduated from Elkhart High School in 1951 and retired as a bookkeeper for Jessen Mfg. Co. and also had worked at the Gas. Co., Miles Labs., Inc and Kegerreis. She was a member of First Brethren Church.

Visitation will be an hour prior to the 1:30 pm service on Monday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
