Emillie E. (van der Sijs) Taylor

Emillie “Milly” Eugenie Taylor, 71, of Elkhart passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. She was born on October 7, 1948 in Jakarta, Indonesia to Herman and Otti van der Sijs.  Emillie moved to America in 1957 where she excelled as a violinist, studying at the Interlochen Arts Academy, became a successful business owner of her truck brokerage, Trinity Transport, and later worked as a home health aide for Elkhart General Hospital. Emillie married Christopher Dane Taylor on June 4, 1997.

Emillie is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Taylor;  her children, Laura (Rick) Wilson of Derby, KS, David (Lisa) Kochanowski of South Bend, IN, Erica Fox of South Bend, IN, and Michael (Nicole) Kochanowski of Stafford, VA;  grandchildren, Matt, Beth, Kyle, Andy, Cecilia, Madelyn and Alex and her sister, Corrie van der Sijs of Elkhart, Indiana. Emillie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Herman van der Sijs, and her grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Nicholas and David.
