Gwendolyn P. Groves

Gwendolyn P. Groves, 92, of Goshen, formerly of Bristol, passed away Tuesday April 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.  Gwendolyn was born on October 26, 1930, to the late Wendelin and Minnie (Till) Lenz in South Bend, Indiana.  On April 5th, 1948 she married Thomas K. Groves and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing on April 10, 2006.

Gwendolyn is survived by her 9 children, Michael (Carolyn) Groves, Greg (Lea) Groves, Gail (Dottie) Groves, Rick (Barb) Groves, Terry (JJ Webster) Groves, Janice (Jerry) Collins, Tim (Rose) Groves, Paula (Merritt) Groves, Lisa (Doug) Forbes; 24 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Dorothy Pence and her brothers Howard and Ray Lenz.

Even with a large family, she always made time for each and every one of them. She provided constant love and support to her family. She enjoyed crocheting and made each of her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren their own blankets. She loved her daytime shows, the Hallmark channel, Turner Classic movies, working word puzzles and her dog Chloe.

Visitation for Gwendolyn will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023  at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, Indiana 46514.  Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
