Harold B. Farmer

Harold B. Farmer, age 89 of Elkhart, IN passed away with his family by his side at home on September 25, 2026. Harold was born on December 3, 1936 to Carl and Lillian Farmer in Ashe County, NC. Harold married Evelyn Smith on February 2, 1958, they have celebrated over 68 years together.

Harold was the founder and proud owner of Farmer Tank, INC. He had a brilliant mind and was always inventing new projects and he was always willing to help anyone. He had an aviation license and enjoyed flying. Harold liked to watch Notre Dame football and Notre Dame girls basketball, especially when they would win. Harold enjoyed the harvest of his vegetable garden. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family.

Harold is survived by his wife Evelyn; their sons Gary (Julie) Farmer of Elkhart, IN and Brent (Cheryl) Farmer of Bristol, IN; granddaughter Megan Farmer of Milwaukee, WI; his sister Betty Jean (Wayne) Ward of Mountain City, TN and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Lillian Farmer and his siblings, Cecil Farmer, Haden Farmer, Helen Franklin and Minnie Harlow.

Visitation will be held from 4:30- 6 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral service will be at 6pm. Burial will be private at Carlton Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
