Helen Shreiner, 96, of Elkhart, passed away May 20, 2020 at Elkhart Place.

Helen was born July 2, 1923 in LaPorte, IN to Lee and Lieta A. (Pippenger) Willis. On Feb. 14, 1942 in Elkhart, she married Joseph J. Shreiner, Jr. who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2009.

Surviving are her children, Becky Thompson of Middlebury, Karen (Bob) Martin of Goshen, Laura (Randy) Weaver of Frankford, DE. and Jo (Kevin) Fulmer of Middlebury, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, and a brother Donald (Nancy) Willis. She was preceded in death by a brother Arthur (MaryAnn) Willis, a son-in-law Gary Thompson, and an infant son.

Helen graduated Elkhart High School, Class of 1941. She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Little Pine Church of the Brethren, Christian Women’s Club and Bible Study Fellowship. She was a lifelong Cubs fan and enjoyed reading, word puzzles, crochet, crewel embroidery, cross-stitch and music.

No Services are planned at this time.

Helen will be entombed next to her husband at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.

Memorials may be made to the family. All donations will be used for the Activities Fund at Elkhart Place.

Special thanks from the Family go to the Staff of Elkhart Place and to Denise Kline, her previous caregiver.  You were like Family to her.   Also, heartfelt thanks to the Staff of Heart2Heart Hospice.  Your services are immeasurable to a family at the end of life.
