James E. Grove

James E. Grove, 85 of Elkhart passed away on December 5, 2023 at Riverside Village in Elkhart, IN. Jim was born on January 31, 1938 in Wakarusa, IN to James R. and Wilma Grove. He married Winifred Ward on May 15,1982 in Middlebury, she preceded him in death on February 22, 2010.

Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army. He and his late wife worked delivering for the United Labor Agency. He was a member of the Elkhart American Legion in Bristol. He loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children Terrie Fraher of Madison, TN., Darlene Amerson of Carrabelle, FL., Rashell Severy of Elkhart, IN Robert (Mary) Ward, JR of Elkhart and Barbara Lambert of Kentucky, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his sister Cheryl (Dennis) Proctor of Elkhart, IN. James was preceded in death by his parents James and Wilma Grove, sons, Alan and Bradley Grove, siblings Lee Grove, Keith Grove and Elener White; grandson Dustin Fraher and great-grandsons Dylan Lambert and JaCorian Amerson.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11 am where visitation will be from 10-11am at the funeral home.
