Janice Faye Corson

Janice Faye (King) Corson, 86, of Granger, passed away at 11:42am, Monday July 4, 2022 at Majestic Care of Goshen following an illness.

She was born Aug. 24, 1935 in Elkhart to Claude and Mary Dorothy (McClure) King. She married Keith D. Corson on July 14, 1957 in Bristol. He preceded her in death, along with their daughter Staci Lynn Corson.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and many friends.

Janice graduated from Bristol High School and went on to obtain her RN degree in 1957 from Ball State Teachers College and the Memorial School of Nursing in Muncie, IN. Janice and her husband, who was in the Marine Corps at the time, spent several years in Wichita, KS where she worked at the VA Hospital. After returning to the Elkhart area, she worked for Dr. Cormican at his practice there. Once Staci was born, Janice retired from the work force and became a full-time mother, but she always kept her RN License active.

Janice as a member of The Bristol United Methodist Church and the Bristol Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and had many memorable adventures with Keith and Staci visiting several countries.

Friends may call from 4 to 6pm, Monday July 11, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where the funeral service will be at 6pm on Monday. Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate. Per her wishes cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, IN.
