Jean Carol McClane, 80, of Fish Lake, Shipshewana, formerly of Elkhart, passed away on April 27, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital. Jean was born on November 16, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Earl and Pearl (Hafer) Spesshardt. She married Robert L. McClane on August 31, 1957 at First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Elkhart.
Jean is survived by her husband Bob, their children, Kelly Jean McClane of Bristol, Kimberly Kay (Jeff) Dahlman of Goshen, Robert P. (Angie) McClane of Elkhart and Ryan L. (Alissa) McClane of Goshen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole Klotz, Donny Klotz III, Dustin Klotz, Rylee Jean Dahlman, Jaden Nicole McClane, Brielle McClane, Ayla McClane and Andyn McClane; her great- grandchildren, Fynley, Madden Jean and Thomson. As well as her siblings; Thomas Spesshardt of Edwardsburg, Richard (Virginia) Spesshardt of Edwardsburg, and Joan (Thomas) Smith of Bristol.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed working as a dining room manager for over 30 years at Elcona Country Club.
Friends may visit with family from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Stemm- Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Faith United Methodist Church, 22045 County Road 18, Goshen, IN with visitation one hour prior to services. Pastor Sarah Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen. Memorial donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 CR 19, Bristol, IN 46502.
