Jeffrey Earl Reinert

Jeffrey Earl Reinert, age 53 of Goshen, IN passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Center for Hospice Care- Ernestine Raclin House in Mishawaka, IN. Jeff was born on November 18, 1972 to Gerard and Patricia Reinert in Wilmington, Delaware. Jeff married Amy Gaydos on June 27, 1998 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN.

Jeff graduated from Peters Township High School in McMurray; PA. he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and his Master’s Degree from Ball State University. Jeff was the Director of Choirs for the Elkhart Community Schools, a job which he truly loved. He was a Choral Director for the Premier Arts Program at the Lerner Theater in Elkhart and served as the coordinator of the Indiana All-State Jazz Choir. When Jeff wasn’t directing choirs, playing guitar or teaching guitar he was rooting for his favorite sports teams, Indiana University and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed beautiful days playing “average” golf with friends and family. Most of all Jeff loved to spend time with his family. He will be sadly missed.

Jeff is survived by his wife of over 28 years, Amy and their daughters, Angela Reinert of Indianapolis, IN and Julianne Reinert of Goshen, IN; his parents Gerard and Patricia Reinert of Elkhart, IN; brother Craig (Monica) Reinert of Overland Park, KS and his two nephews Jakob and Ryan.

Visitation will be held from 10am-2pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 2pm, In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jeff’s love for the Elkhart High School Choir please make donations to the Elkhart High School Choir, 2608 California Road, Elkhart, IN 46514, in the memo please put Jeff Reinert.
