Joan K. Stemm, 72 of Elkhart, passed away Dec. 15, 2014 at her home. She was born on Oct. 8, 1942 in Elkhart to Richard and Gladys (Mason) Stemm. Surviving are 2 brothers, Alan (Joan) Stemm of Albuquerque, NM, Denis Stemm of Goshen and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Stemm.
Joan graduated from Elkhart High School in 1960 and retired from Meijer Dept. Store as a clerk. She had previously worked for the Post Office Credit Union and Elkhart Clinic. She attended Faith United Methodist Church.
Visitation for Joan will be Monday, Dec. 22nd from noon to 1 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 pm. Reverend John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Faith United Methodist Church.
