Judy E. Marks

Judy E. Marks, age 79, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday November 14, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was born on November 12, 1942 in Indiana to Carl and Pauline Stanley. She married her high school sweetheart Stanley L. Marks on June 26, 1960 in Koontz Lake, IN, who preceded her in death on May 23, 2011.

Judy graduated valedictorian from Grovertown High School. Judy and her husband owned and operated Stan’s Trash Service for 25 years, she then worked at BFI in the office until her retirement. She was a member of California Road Missionary Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children Dennis (Shannon) Marks of Osceola, Michael (Linda) Marks of Elkhart and Kim (Mark) Varda of Osceola, grandchildren Daniel (Sarah) Marks, David (Amy) Marks, Brittany (Bobby) Malicoat, Lindsay (Jordan) Bowerman, Kristin (Justin) Frederick and Kaylee Sell; great-grandchildren Elennore, Lincoln, Caleb, Andrew, Guinevere, Greyson, Zara, Zoey and Jaxtin; her brother David (Donna) Stanley and sister Rita (Bryan) Black; sister-in-law Marti Stanley and her dog Gracie. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Larry Stanley and sister Linda (Chris) Schenk.

Funeral service will be at 12 pm on Saturday November 20, 2021 at California Road Missionary Church, 29765 C.R. 12, Elkhart, IN 46514 with visitation 2 hours before services. Pastor Ryan Dalrymple will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 pm Saturday at Grovertown Cemetery in Grovertown, IN. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with Judy’s arrangements.
