Karen Lynn Heiland

Karen L. Heiland, 79 of Goshen, passed away on June 2, 2026 peacefully at home. She was born on August 10, 1946 in South Bend, IN to Bernard E and Evangeline Piotrowski. She married Robert J. Heiland on March 2, 1990 in Elkhart, IN.

Karen is survived by her children Bryan (Colleen) Hahn of Chandler, AZ and Lisa (Shane) Ray of Brownsburg, IN and five grandchildren Madison Ray, Nicholas Hahn, Alison Ray, Daniel Hahn, and Benjamin Hahn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Dale Piotrowski.

Karen graduated from Penn High School in 1964. She was a substitute teacher in the Wanee School System and loved her time living in Wakarusa, IN. She later went back to school and received a degree from Indiana University in Accounting then worked for 28 years in the Finance Division at Bayer Corporation.

Visitation will be Friday from 11am - 1pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 followed by a 1pm service. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Online condolences may be made to Karen’s family at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com
