Lawrence Larry Singleston

Lawrence Larry Singleton, age 84, of Plymouth, IN passed away on Monday, June 6, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Larry was born on July 29, 1941 to Ivan and Valda Singleton in North Judson, IN. Larry married the love of his life Lena Mae Sowers on October 31, 1964 at Koontz Lake Community Church.

Larry attended Grovertown High School. He retired from AM General Corporation, where he did several jobs, from painting, inventory control, filing, to driving the bosses around. Most of all Larry loved to travel with his wife Lena in their RV. They enjoyed visiting family, camping, canoeing and fishing together. Larry never met a stranger, where a small conversation led to long conversations and lifelong friendships. Larry enjoyed growing flowers and when they were in full bloom he enjoyed giving them to his lady friends. He always was willing to help a friend in need. Larry loved to spend time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Lena Singleton; their children Larry Singleton, Ron (Amy) Singleton, Sheila Singleton and Troy (Amy) Singleton; grandchildren Jeff Singleton, Jessica Myers, Jay (Justine) Singleton, Brad (Chelsea) Singleton, Mike Summey, Amanda Loyd, Jennifer Sapp and Eric Singleton; 24 great-grandchildren and one on the way and one great-great grandchild and one great-great grandchild on the way; sister Velma Phenis of Walkerton, brothers-in-law Leroy Hahn of North Judson and Bob (Sue) Sowers of Niles. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ivan Singleton and Valda (Ralph) Tener; his siblings, Ida, George, Jim, Remona, Glena, Doris and Phyllis and his granddaughters, Brittany Singleton and Katie Richardson.
