Leila M. Godshalk

Leila M. Godshalk, age 91, of Elkhart, IN passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Brentwood Assisted Living in Elkhart, IN. She was born on March 1, 1935 in Climax, MI to William and Ella (Randall) Coville. On June 27, 1964 she married Max Godshalk with whom she shared 42 years of marriage before his passing on December 1, 2006.

Leila worked as a member of the office staff at Upjohn Pharmaceutical Plant in Kalamazoo, MI before joining the Belvedere Corporation in Elkhart until her retirement. Leila loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Leila is survived by her children; Randy Godshalk of Merrillville, IN and Amy (Mark) Hardin of Jamestown, KY, grandchildren; Hunter (Caroline) Hardin, Carly Godshalk and Cole Godshalk, great-granddaughter Reynolds, sisters-in-law; Shirley Coville of Climax, MI, Ann Congdon of Bristol, IN., Lois Bostain of Elkhart, IN and Earleen Coville of Scotts, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Ella Coville, her husband, Max Godshalk, brothers; Robert Coville, Wilbur Coville, Merle Coville and Ray Coville, sisters; Hazel Kaiser and Bertha Buchko, and in-laws; Henry and Marjorie Godshalk.

Visitation will be held 10:30-11:30 on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 with a service to follow at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Bristol, IN.
