Lester “Les” Glenn Windbigler, 78, of Elkhart passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart. Les was born on April 14, 1944 in Boston, MS to Glenn and Ruth Florence Windbigler. He married the love of his life Nancy Lou on January 9, 1965 at Beulah United Missionary Church in Elkhart.
Les graduated from Bristol High School class of 1962. He retired from Bayer formerly known as Miles Laboratory after 37 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed golf, golf and more golf. When Les was not golfing he was attending his children and grandchildren’s activities, this is something he would never miss. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Les is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; their daughter Jeannine (Joshua) Honderich of Goshen and Christina (Mark) Romanetz of Bristol; grandchildren Mitch (Lindsey) Romanetz, Jessica (Tyler) Keaton, Alexis Johnston, Cole Johnston, Nicholas Romanetz and Makenah Romanetz; great-grandchildren Findley, Adelle and Gwyneth “GB” Romanetz; he is also survived by his sisters Leslie (Robert) McKibbin of Middlebury, IN and Linda (Bill) Dempster of Bristol and his brother Ralph Eric (Barbara) Windbigler of Elkhart. Les was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Ruth Windbigler and his son-in-law Douglas Johnston.
A celebration of Les’ life will be celebrated at 5 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 where family will gather with friends from 3-5 pm.
