Linda J. Whitmer

Linda J. Whitmer, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday June 3 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Linda was born Oct. 17, 1953 in Sandusky, MI to Roy L. and Emily June (Calkins) Swinson.
On June 16, 1979 in New Paris, IN she married Roger Whitmer who survives along with sons: David R. Swinson and Christopher L. Swinson both of Elkhart, a daughter Lorri J. Swinson of Elkhart, step-daughters: Kimberly A. Quinn of White Pigeon, MI and Tracy L. (Andy) Clark of Elkhart, ten Grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, mother-in-law Barb McMannis of Elkhart, a nephew Shawn B. Nast of Elkhart, brothers: Victor L. (Cindy) Calkins and Bryan L. Calkins both of Elkhart and a sister Crystal A. Heershop of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Roger “Buddy” Whitmer II, 6 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.

Linda attended Northside Baptist Church. She loved to go bowling and enjoyed animals and flowers.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11am service Friday June 6 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, with Pastor Nathan Breneman presiding. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
